Chefs have to follow a specific time table of cooking food while at the same time maintaining quality and observing safety and sanitation guidelines. The salary of a chef varies drastically according to their qualification, experience and culinary skills and according to their place of work. For a medium class restaurant it could be between Rs.20,000/- to Rs.30,000/- per month and for a 5-star hotel their salary could be over Rs. 100,000/- per month.
